Well, after much dithering, I've finally managed to get a website up and running. It's a mixed bag of being a catalogue of my various artistic endeavours in painting, music and poetry, but also a chance to put my various random (and they are random) thoughts in writing somewhere. Yes, it's a bit of a vanity and personal branding project, but that's part of the point.
It's also a chance to put up a diary of my adventures in the USA. In just over a month I'll be quitting my job, leaving the comfortable confines of Canberra and heading over to Dallas, Texas to study. The course is a combined Masters of Arts Administration and Masters of Business Administration (or as they call it, the MAMBA) at Southern Methodist University. You can check it out here. Completing the program will mean a change of career from where I am at the moment, but that's part of the appeal. I'd like to move into working in the arts full-time, and hopefully use the experience to come back to Australia and make a contribution to enhancing the arts in Australia. At least that's the plan. But back to the point of this post. Having the blog is a chance for all my family and friends to keep track of my progress in the USA and share in some of the various experiences I'm sure to have along the way. The next two years are going to be big, hopefully there'll be enough time along the way to chronicle some of it.
