Well, we survived the first set of courses. Just in time too, since the next set of courses starts tomorrow. And we already have assignments due ahead of the first classes. Just another day in the life of an MBA student. We won’t get our grades for a couple of days, so the weekend has been a kind of nervous limbo. It’d be nice to say I am confident that I will get great marks, but those exams were hard. Even the lecturers admitted that they kicked the degree of difficulty up a notch or two for our class.
We had four exams in four days, each exam being three hours long. You'd finish one and be straight home to study for the next one. The last exam was on Thursday afternoon, which was followed by a fair amount of celebration as you can imagine. We finally got around to having a housewarming at our apartment that evening, where I got to discover the game Cards Against Humanity (link NSFW if you are easily offended). After that it was three days of “break” from classes. One day was written off for catching up on housework and “life” stuff (like getting a haircut), and today has been spent getting ready for the new courses. In the end it amounted to a one day break, which was largely spent chilling out at home with a cold beer or two. As such, I’m keeping this blog entry deliberately short, since there’s still a lot of pre-work to do before tomorrow, and I want to make the most of the break. Normal service will (hopefully) resume next week. However, I just want to applaud my colleagues for getting through what I'm told is the toughest phase of the MBA program. Well done. Now for the next stage.
